Cherokee County Republican Meeting: Oct. 7th at 6:30 PM Armory Building
Welcome...
Welcome to the Cherokee County Young Republicans in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Our objectives are: to develop an aggressive and productive Young Republican organization; to attract young men and women into the Republican party participation, leadership training, and political involvement at all levels of government; to further the principles, objectives, and platform of the Cherokee County Republican Party; to support the election of Republican officials under the age of 40 to Oklahoma elective office; and to be a force for positive change in local government entities.
About the YR's:
The Young Republicans (YRs) are the oldest political youth organization in the United States. Important to the growth of the Republican Party, the YRs reach out to registered Republicans, 18 to 40 years of age, and provide them with better political knowledge and understanding of the issues of the day. Since its creation, the YRNF has established itself as the premier Republican grassroots organization in the nation, providing essential grassroots support for Republican candidates and conservative issues on the local, state and national levels. The YRNF has a solid record of producing future Republican Party leaders - including Governors, Senators, Congressmen, nationally recognized campaign consultants, and community leaders. While the YRs are best known for political activism and service to our communities, YR events also provide a great opportunity for interaction amongst membership. This interaction allows for the exchange of ideas, networking, and friendships that will last a lifetime. The YRs provide different opportunities for different people. No matter what your long-term goals may be, the YRs serve as the building blocks for a successful future.

YR Year In Review
This past year of organizing Young Republicans has included many hours of late night work, lots of coffee with new and prospective members, miles and miles of travel, fundraising with our supporters, many meetings, thousands of e-mails, and we wouldn't give it up for anything. We wanted to thank each of you for caring about the future of the Republicans in your county, your state, and your country. We have believed in the Young Republican organization and chose to get involved so we could begin working towards YR goals. We could not have done it without the support of those that reached out their hands, namely Muskogee County Young Republicans. Jordan was an indispensable friend in our journey. We held joint meetings and events with Muskogee County and we found we shared a common vision, a strong YR network in the state of Oklahoma. We also enjoyed our getting new people involved in the YR's, not only reaching out to Young professionals and young families but teenage Republicans as well. We look forward to the next year!
We learned from our experiences in other community organizing that to do so much, you need help from all corners, and an idea only need begin as a small thought by a small group of people or even one person. We are grateful for our members and that they have stood with us to get our county mobilized and develop relationships over the past year in the state.
We thank our financial supporters, who saw from the work that we were doing that they could believe in us and thank them for all of the financial contributions they have donated to us. This tremendous support has allowed us to outreach and connect with Cherokee County Republicans and those across this great state.
We have published two documents with input from members and with the help of Jamison Faught and Jordan Stevens and many others and these documents are available to be e-mailed to you. These documents include lots of consensus building, ideas, and excitement that we have been working on for over the past month that we want to share what we have learned, what we can do, how Young Republican groups can be organized in the state of Oklahoma, and what we hope you will stand with us to work towards in the new year in the state of Oklahoma for Young Republicans. We believe in the Young Republicans and are happy to share what we have learned with others.
We are excited that new Young Republican groups are being mobilized and look forward to working with each of them across the state, for we can do so much more together and with the 2010 elections we are ready for action. Please stop by our table at the YR Convention and say "Hi", see the work that we have been doing over the past year, and how we plan to make an imprint on the future!

-We have returned from Convention and we had a great representation! We had a strong voting bloc and were very pleased to meet some new friends.
-Thanks to all who came to the Tea Party. We had over 150 people at the tea party. Thanks to Fritz and our partners, the College Republicans in hosting this event.
